I am reading this in celebration of Mother's Day, on a day I too really miss my mom even though it has been so very many years that she died. This writing is beautiful and thought provoking!Valhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14871885530711678706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1979076563260064684.post-7321125020840494742011-04-12T22:24:20.615-07:002011-04-12T22:24:20.615-07:00Thanks for dropping by, and for sharing. And I haven't read Mary Karr's books, but I'd like to, thanks for the reminder, Florida Girl.Dawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09277751616587900015noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1979076563260064684.post-59773467129217198342011-04-07T17:54:07.229-07:002011-04-07T17:54:07.229-07:00a wonderful post and tribute...found your link on ...a wonderful post and tribute...found your link on She Writes.Sheilahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06541409754494611831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1979076563260064684.post-56659003563542242712011-04-07T13:40:20.842-07:002011-04-07T13:40:20.842-07:00I am stopping by from She Writes, and I am your ne...I am stopping by from She Writes, and I am your newest follower.

Have you ever read "Lit" by Mary Karr? My mum lived in England (I am in Canada) but I could pick up the phone anytime and give her news, especially about her grandchildren, who she loved very much. After she passed away I can't tell you how many times I went to pick up the phone to call her with some piece of news, only to be jolted to the realisation that she was gone. It must have meant so much to your cousin to hear from you. We should write to our loved ones more often through their times of deepest loss as a small way of regaining the sense of community this world has often lost.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09922760815882403820noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1979076563260064684.post-21479209835744222832011-04-05T17:22:53.265-07:002011-04-05T17:22:53.265-07:00I was moved by this and I thank you for this post....I was moved by this and I thank you for this post. I lost my mother almost 30 years ago and I still miss her. It is true I have not gotten over the loss of my mother but I, together with my siblings got through it - slowly though painfully. I dealt with my mom's passing away through silence and only now, am I able to write about her. I hope my writing not only honors but celebrates her life.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1979076563260064684.post-33191618478900908952011-04-05T12:04:13.065-07:002011-04-05T12:04:13.065-07:00Thanks so much for your comments journetytoepiphan...Thanks so much for your comments journetytoepiphany and Scrollwork.
